Tips and Tricks to Giveaways

If you have never participated in a Giveaway
here are a few things that you need to know to
get set up properly.

• You will need a graphic of your gift.
• You will need a short description of your gift
  Usually 50 characters or less
• You will need a detailed description of your gift
  Usually up to 300 characters
• You will need a squeeze page to collect opt ins
• You will need a download page
• You will need a direct download link to your gift

Gift Graphic

If you have a good box graphic or ebook graphic that
is great. However do not get hung up on this. A flat
square colored background with some well laid out
Text will work just as well if your description of the
product is good.

Short description and detail description

Just tell them what they are going to get.

Squeeze page. For this you need a auto responder that
will generate a form code for you. If you do not have
a Auto Responder I highly recommend Aweber.

For my Squeeze page I use the following format

Headline:  Thank You For Visiting The Giveaway

Sub Head:  You have reached the Special Page

               (Insert Picture of Gift)

             To download your gift please
                fill out the form below.
Insert Aweber Form:   First Name
                      Email Address

            Your gift will be delivered immediatly
             after your confirm your email address.

                Do not worry your email is safe.
                  
               
Then I set up Aweber so that when they confirm their
email address they go directly to the download page
for the gift.

The download page.

Download pages can be very benificial and profitable.
After the gift download try to sneak in a few
bonuses that link to a possible affiliate sale.
Most Giveaways will allow this as long as it is not a
cluttered up mess and the bonuses follow the
actual download of the gift.

I have seen a few pretty blatent sales pages as
download pages. You had to really hunt for the
gift download link in between all the sales hype.
It surprised me that the promoters let these pages
in the Giveaway. I hope it does not surprise them
when I do not promote their giveaway next year.

Here are a few extra tips
               
I have found that if you really want to get the
maximum amount of opt ins it is wise to buy the
upgrade as long as it puts you on the
“hot download page” and increases your gift ranking.

Gifts that are percieved to contain a lot of stuff are
the most popular downloads. If you
can put together a private lable rights package
that is huge for example 130 plr articals or ebooks
people will flock to it like flys on honey even if it
is a bunch of junk.

I do not suggest that you put
a bunch of junk in a giveaway. Remember if you
deliver something of real value it will make a
good first impression to your new subscribers.
